광주U대회 세계 대학생 LTE 방송국 유니브로(주간 정 철)가 초중고생들의 모바일방송 체험학습장으로 활용된다.
Uni-Bro (Chief Jung Chul), the Gwangju Universiade World University LTE-line broadcasting station, will be used for mobile broadcasts by elementary, middle, and high school students in the Universiade experimental zone.

유니브로 주관대학인 호남대학교(총장 서강석)는 “광주U대회 주경기장인 광주월드컵경기장 북문 옆 마켓스트리트에 건립돼 운영 중인 유니브로 방송국을 7월 10일부터 미디어에 관심을 갖고 있는 초중고생들에게 모바일방송 체험학습장으로 개방하기로 했다”고 밝혔다.
Honam University and its president Seo Gang Seok, the host university of Uni-Bro, announced that they have decided to open Uni-Bro as a mobile broadcasts experimental zone, which is established on Market Street next to the north gate of the Gwangju World Cup Stadium, for students interested in media from July 10th on.

이는 유니브로가 광주U대회 현장을 찾은 학생들로부터 큰 인기를 끌고 있는데다, 일부 초중고의 견학 및 참관 요청이 잇따르고 있는데 따른 것이다. 항공 촬영용 드론과 LTE 카메라 등 최첨단 IT장비와 스튜디오를 갖추고 있는 유니브로 방송국은 연일 학생과 시민들의 발길이 끊이지 않고 있다.
Uni-Bro, which is equipping drones for aerial photographs, using LTE cameras, and deploying other high tech IT equipment in their state-of-the-art studio, has had frequent contact with students and residents during the games. As it has grown in popularity with students, it has been receiving requests for tours and observation.

유니브로 정철 주간은 “유니브로는 광주U대회가 끝난 이후, 미디어 진출을 희망하는 초중고생들의 진로직업체험교육의 장으로 활용할 예정이었으나, U대회 기간 중에도 호남대학교 신문방송학과(학과장 김기태)의 지원을 받아 방송에 지장이 없는 범위 내에서 체험학습 공간으로 적극 개방하기로 했다”고 밝혔다.
Chief Jung Chul has stated that “After the Universiade games, we planned for Uni-Bro to be used as part of the job experience education for students who want to enter the media. However, we decided to open immediately as an experimental zone based on our smooth broadcasting coverage during the U-game period through the support of the Honam University Department of Mass Media (department chair Kim Gi Tae).

유니브로 견학 및 개방 시간은 매일 오전 11시부터 6시까지이며, 견학신청 및 상담은 호남대학교 신문방송학과(손은경 010-4645-0602), 또는 유니브로(이종상 010-3613-0379)로 하면 된다.

사상 최초로 시도되는 세계 대학생 LTE 방송국 유니브로는 호남대 통합뉴스센터 학생기자들을 주축으로 미국 유타대, 중국 산동관리대, 이화여대, 한양대, 울산대, 전남대 등 국내외 7개 대학 학생기자와 방송국원 등 60여명이 광주U대회(7월 3일~14일)의 다양한 현장 뉴스와 영상을 유투브(YouTube)를 통해 전 세계로 송출해 모바일과 인터넷으로 시청할 수 있도록 서비스하고 있다.
Uni-Bro, the first global university LTE-line broadcasting station, is providing various news and videos throughout the world via YouTube through the participation of student reporters and staff of broadcasting stations from Honam University Media Center and other 6 world universities including the University of Utah, China Shandong University, the University of Ulsan, Hanyang University, and Chonnam National University.

유니브로는 광주U대회 주관 방송사인 KBS의 모바일 방송 ‘마이 K’와의 협력을 통해 일부 프로그램을 공동제작함으로써 방송의 퀄리티를 높이고 참여 학생들에게 방송전문가와 함께 방송 실무를 체험하는 교육적인 성과를 올리고 있다.
By co-producing with the 'My K' mobile broadcasts of KBS, the hosting broadcaster for the Gwangju Universiade, Uni-Bro is upgrading its quality and obtaining educational results by experiencing real broadcasting with professionals.

특히 유니브로는 U대회 차기 개최지인 대만 타이베이시의 쩌우리방 부시장 겸 타이베이세계대학운동회조직위원회 위원장으로부터 ‘2017타이베이U대회’에 초청을 받은데 이어, 2018평창동계올림픽대회 조직위원회 곽영진 사무총장도 큰 관심을 표명한 바 있다.
As a result, Uni-Bro has been invited to the ‘2017 Taipei Universiade’ by Zhu Lifang, the vice president of Taipei and the chairman of Taipei Universiade operating committee, and Gwak Yeong Jin, the secretary general and the chairman of planning department of 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic organizing committee, has shown significant interest in participation by Uni-Bro.
